The Legend of Zelda
The game that started the legend!
Prologue:
A long, long time ago the World was in an age of Chaos. In the middle of this chaos, in a little kingdom in the land of Hyrule, a legend was being banded down from generation to generation, the legend of the 'Triforce'; golden triangles possessing mystical powers.
One day, an evil army attacked this peaceful little kingdom and stole the Triforce of Power. This army was led by Gannon, the powerful Prince of Darkness who sought to plunge the World into fear and darkness under his rule. Fearing his wicked rule, Zelda, the princess of this kingdom, split up the Triforce of Wisdom into eight fragments and hid them throughout the realm to save the last remaining Triforce from the cluthes of the evil Ganon. At the same time, she commanded her most trustworthy nursemaid, Impa, to secretly escape into the land and go find a man with enough courage to destroy the evil Gannon. Upon heraing this, Ganon grew angry, imprisoned the princess, and sent out a party in search of Impa.
Braving forests and mountains, Impa fled for her life from her pursuers. As she reached the very limit of her energy she found herself sourrounded by Gannon's evil henchmen. Cornered! What could she do? ... But wait!
All was not lost. A young lad appeared. He skillfully drove off Ganon's henchmen, and saved Impa from a fate worse than death. His name was Link. During his travels he had come across Impa and Ganon's henchmen. Impa told Link the whole story of the princess Zelda and the evil Ganon. Burning with a sense of justice, Link resolved to save Zelda, but Ganon was a powerful opponent. He held the Triforce of Power. And so, in order to fight off Ganon, Link had to bring the scattered eight fragments of the Triforce of Wisdom together to rebuild the mystical Triangle.
If he couldn't do this, there would be no chance Link could fight his way into Death Mountain where Ganon lived. Can Link really destroy Ganon and save the Princess Zelda? Only your skill can answer that question. Good luck. Use the Triforce wisely.
The Legend of Zelda : Adventure of Link
Prologue:
Hyrule was on the road to ruin. The power that the vile heart of Ganon had left behind was causing chaos and disorder in Hyrule. What's more, even after the fall of Ganon, some of his underlings remained, waiting for Ganon's return. The key to Ganon's return was the blood of Link - the valiant lad who overthrew the King of Evil. Ganon would be revived by sacrificing Link and sprinkling his blood on the ashes of Ganon.
Meanwhile, Link remained in the little kingdom of Hyrule and lent his hand to its restoration. But circumstances did not look very good. One day, a strange mark, exactly like the crest of the kingdom, appeared on the back of Link's hand as he approached his 16th birthday. The worried Link went to Impa, Princess Zelda's nursemaid who was shocked and frightened when she saw the birthmark. When she regained her composure, she took Link to the North Castle.
There was a door in the North Castle called "the door that does not open." Only the descendants of the Impa family who served the king knew how to open the door. Impa took Link's left hand and pressed the back of it against the door. There was a sound of a lock falling open, the door slowly creaked open and there on an altar in the middle of the room lay a beautiful woman. "Here lies Princess Zelda." Impa began to speak calmly.
"Link, the time has come when I must tell you the legend of Zelda handed down in Hyrule. It is said that a long ago, when Hyrule was one country, a great ruler maintained the peace in Hyrule using the Triforce. However, the king too was a child of man and he died. Then, the prince of the kingdom should have become king and inherited everything, but he could inherit the Triforce only in part. The Prince searched everywhere for the missing parts, but could not find them. Then, a magician close to the king brought him some unexpected news. Before he died, the king had said something about the Triforce to only the younger sister of the prince, Princess Zelda. The prince immediately questioned the princess, but she wouldn't tell him anything. After the prince, the magician threatened to put the princess into an eternal sleep if she did not talk, but even still, she said nothing."
"In his anger, the magician tried to cast a magic spell on the princess. The surprised prince tried to stop him, but the magician fought off the prince and went on chanting the spell. Then, when the spell was finally cast, Princess Zelda fell on that spot and entered asleep from which she might never awake. At the same time, the magician also fell down and breathed his last."
"In his grief, the prince placed the princess in this room. He hoped that someday she would come back to life. So that this tragedy would never be forgotten, he ordered that every female child born into the royal household be given the name Zelda." From the stand next to the altar where Princess Zelda lay in a deep sleep, Impa took six crystals and a scroll with the same crest and handed them to Link.
"For generations, my family has been handed down these things which have been set aside for a time when a great king will come. They are written in an ancient script that no one can read now. But you who have the crest may be able to read it. It is said that the key to uniting the Triforce is hidden there. Now it is time for you to read it." Link glanced at the scroll half in doubt, but what do you know? Although he had never seen the letters before, he found that he could read them as if they were talking to him.
This was written on the scroll. "You who'll control the Triforce of the future. I shall hand down to you the secrets of the Triforce. There are three kinds of Triforce -- Power, Wisdom, and Courage. When these three are brought together, the Triforce will show its maximum power. Of the three, I have left Power and Wisdom in the kingdom. But the Triforce Courage I have hidden for a reason."
"Not everybody can use the Triforce. It requires strong character with no evil thoughts. But an inborn special quality is also necessary. Unfortunately, I have not found such a person during my lifetime." "Therefore, I have decided to cast a spell on all of Hyrule. A crest will appear on a young man with that character that has been brought up correctly, has gained many kinds of experiences and reached a certain age. But, what will happen if someone else uses the Triforce before then? If it misused, it will produce many evils." "The Triforce of Courage is hidden in the Great Palace in the Valley of Death on the largest island in Hyrule. However, to enter there you must first fight the guardians and undo the "binding force." When you have defeated the guardians, which I made to prevent enemies from invading the six palaces in Hyrule, set a crystal in the forehead of the statue you find. When you have set crystals in all of the statues in the six palaces, the "binding force" placed on the Valley of Death will be removed and you will be able to enter the great palace. There, you must fight the last guardian. And you can obtain the Triforce only by defeating that guardian." "There's nothing to fear. You are the one to get the Triforce. You are the beacon of hope for Hyrule."
Impa implored Link, who raised his head slowly after reading the scroll. "The magic spell cast upon Princess Zelda will sure to be broken if the Triforce is used." "Please, Link. Unite the Triforce and save the princess. And bring back peace to Hyrule.
Link nodded silently in approval, and left the room after taking a long glance at the altar. Then, with a magical sword in his left hand and a magical shield in his right, he set off alone on his long travels. At that time, Ganon's underlings were calling up new allies from the Underworld, and were beginning to work devilishly towards the revival of Ganon.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
Prologue:

-The Creation of Hyrule-
According to the Hylian scrolls, the mythical Gods descended from a distant nebula to the world that was and created order and life. The God of Power dyed the mountains red with fire and created land. The God of Wisdom created science and wizardry and brought order to nature. And the God of Courage, through justice and vigor, created life-the animals that crawl the land and the birds that soar in the sky. After the Gods had finished their work, they left the world, but not before creating a symbol of their strength, a golden triangle known as the Triforce. A small but marvel portion of the essence of the Gods was held in this mighty artifact, which was to guide the intelligent life on the world of Hyrule.
Although it was an inanimate object, the Triforce had the power to bestow three titles which gave the person who received them great powers: The Forger of Strength, The Keeper of Knowledge, and The Juror of Courage. From its hiding place in the so-called golden land where the Gods placed it, the Triforce beckoned people from the outside world to seek it in the hope that someone worthy of these titles would find it.
With their magic infused blood, the Hylian people were endowed with psychic powers and skilled in wizardry. It was also said that there long, pointed ears enabled them to hear special messages from the Gods, so they were held in high esteem by many people in Hyrule. Their descendants settled in various parts of the world and passed on their knowledge and magical lore to all people. But in its passing, the lore was often distorted or lost altogether...
-Gates to the Golden Land-
In Hyrule, there are many Hylian buildings which are mentioned repeatedly in the Legends. These buildings, which now lie in ruin, pale shadows of their former splendor, are closely tied to the Triforce. Some were said to have the Triforce itself...
If it were only a symbol of the Gods, the Triforce would be coveted by many. But a verse from the Book of Mudora made the Triforce even more desirable:
"In a realm beyond sight, The sky shines gold, not blue. There, the Triforce's might Makes mortal dreams come true."
Many aggressively searched for the wish granting Triforce, but no one, not even the Hylian sages, was sure of its location; the knowledge had been lost over time. Some said the Triforce lay under the desert, others said that it was in the cemetary in the shadow of Death Mountain, but no one ever found it. That yearing for the Triforce soon turned to lust for power, which in turn led to the spilling of blood. Soon the only motive left among those searching for the Triforce was pure greed.
One day, quite by accident, a gate to the Golden Land of the Triforce was opened by a gang of thieves skilled in the black arts. This land was like no other. In the gathering twilight, the Triforce shone from its resting place high above the world. In a long running battle, the leader of the thieves fought his way past his followers in lust for the Golden Power. After vanquishing his own followers, the leader stood triumphant over the Triforce and grasped it with his blood-stained hands. He heard a whispered voice: "If thou hast a strong desire or dream, wish for it..." And in reply, the roaring laughter of the brigand leader echoed across time and space and even reached the far-off land of Hyrule. The name of this king of thieves is Ganondorf Dragmire, but he is known by his alias, Mandrag Gannon, which means Ganon of the Enchanted Thieves.
-The Imprisoning War-
I do not know what Ganon wished for from the Triforce. However, in time evil power began to flow from the Golden Land and greedy men were drawn there to become members of Ganon's army. Black clouds permanently darkened the sky, and many disasters beset Hyrule. The lord of Hyrule sent for the Seven Wise Men and the Knights of Hyrule, and ordered them to seal the entrance to the Golden Land. The Triforce, being an inanimate object, cannot judge between good and evil. Therefore, it could not know that Ganon's wishes were evil; it merely granted them. Suspecting that Ganon's power was based on the Triforce's magic, the people of Hyrule forged a sword resistant to magic which could repulse even powers granted by the Triforce. This mighty weapon became known as the Blade of Evil's Bane, or the Master Sword. It was so powerful that only one who was pure of heart and strong of body could wield it.
As the Seven Wise Men searched for a valiant person to take up the Master Sword, Ganon's evil army swarmed from the tainted Golden Land into Hyrule and attacked the castle. The Wise Men and the Knights of Hyrule combined forces to wage war on this evil horde.
The Knights took the full brunt of the fierce attack, and although they thought courageously, many a brave soul was lost that they. However, their lives were not lost in vain, for they bought precious time for the Seven Wise Men to magically seal Ganon in the Golden Land. All of Hyrule rejoiced at the victory that upheld peace and order over Ganon's evil and chaos. This war, which had claimed many lives, became known as the Imprisoning War in stories told in later centuries.
-The Coming of the Wizard-
Many centuries have passed since the Imprisoning War. The land of Hyrule healed its wounds and the people lived in peace for a long time. Memories of the vicious Imprisoning War faded over the generations...
So it is no surprise that no one was prepared for the new disasters that have recently struck Hyrule. Pestilence and drought, uncontrollable even by magic, ravaged the land. The king of Hyrule, after council with his sages, ordered an investigation of the Imprisoned Dark World (as the Golden Land had come to be known) but the wise men's seal was apparently intact. He offered rewards for anyone who could find the source of these troubles. In answer to these summons a stranger named Agahnim came and quelled the disasters with a previously unseen form of magic. As a reward, the king gave him a new position as chief advisor and heir to the Seven masses proclaimed him their hero. Peace had returned to Hyrule... or had it?
Of late, rumors have traveled their whispering path with alarming frequency. Rumors saying Agahnim now rules the country with his magic... Rumors of strange, magical experiments in the castle tower at night... The people of Hyrule were gripped by dread.
-Prologue-
One night, a girl's voice awakens you from your sleep.
She telepathically pleads. You jump out of your bed not knowing whether the voice was part of a dream or reality. Upon leaving your bed, you find your uncle, who should be fast asleep at this time, preparing to go out, girded for battle.
"I'll be back by morning." he says as he departs, "Don't leave the house!"
You watch him leave with the family sword in hand and shield on arm. This is a night like no other. Who is Zelda? Where had your uncle gone and for what reason?

The Legend of Zelda : Link's Awakening
Prologue:
The Legend Of Zelda : Ocarina Of Time
Prologue:
Walkthrough:
Hiya, it's Jas. Michael asked me to do a bit on his site but oh dear, what to do!?! It looks like he's doing fine. So, I mulled it over in my brain and decided to devise a walkthrough to Ocarina Of Time. It's my favourie Zelda game and definitely one of my top three games. (Sorry, Arthur but I love :)Animal Crossing - Wild World:) (so do I! but not as much as this! Ed)) So, without much further ado I present to you my guide to Ocarina Of Time. Lets load up the N64 (or Gamecube! Ed)!
Part 1: Kokiri Forest
I won't go through every item and everything like that, just the bare neccessities. Exit your room and climb down the ladder. Head left from your house and run up the slope. Go through the fences and past the grass and stand by the wall with the hole. Enter the hole and crawl through. Head to your left. Wait for the big boulder to roll round then follow through the grass and open the treasure chest. You'll find the Kokiri Sword. Follow the boulder back round and crawl back though the hole. Along your way you should gather as many rupees as possible by smashing rocks, cutting plants, running through grass, jumping over water, smashing vases and opening treasure chests. Head to the shop (with the red roof). You need to buy a Deku Shield (40 rupees) and I advise buying some Deku Nuts and Sticks (or just kill the deku babas on the way! They respawn! Ed). Once satisfied, head left from the shop and talk to the Kokiri standing in the gap in the wall. Make sure to have your sword and shield equiped. He'll let you pass. It's there you'll encounter your first battle - against three plants. Just slice them with your sword and you'll gain some Deku Sticks (See! Ed). Head onwards. Speak to the Deku Tree and he'll let you inside him... Into the first dungeon you go!
Part 2: Deku Tree
Kill the plants if you like (Hate them. Ed). If not, climb up the ladder to your left. Run along the path jumping the gaps. Open the treasure chest to your left and you'll get the map. Ignore the enemies on the wall and continue onwards. Enter the door on the left. Kill the shrub in the room by Z (or L) Targeting it and deflect the seed it shoots at you with your shield. When you get close (stand on the flower it came from. Ed) to it it'll give you some advice and run off. Proceed through the door. Jump onto the floating platform, then quickly onto the ledge of the wall and climb up. Open the large treasure chest and you'll get the Fairy Slingshot. Equip it and shoot at the ladder making it fall down. Jump down then climb up the ladder and go back through the door. Proceed through the door opposite. Head right along the platform and shoot the spiders on the vine wall. Climb up the wall and then drop onto one of the ledges. Kill the giant spiders (attack with your sword when it turns round twice) if you like. Prceed through the door. Equip a Deku Stick and light it on the torch. Then use it to set fire to the other torch. Press down the button and jump across the ledges. Open the treasure chest and you'll get the compass. Exit through the door and kill one of the giant spiders. Jump down right to the web at the bottom of the tree, causing it to snap and you'll fall to the floor below you. Climb onto the partly underwater ledge and jump onto the higher one. Step on the switch then set one of your Deku Sticks on fire and jump onto the partly underwater ledge, then onto the small one out of the water and set fire to the web causing it to burn and reveal a door. Enter and defeat the shrub. Remember the three numbers it tells you (Twenty Three is Number One! Ed). Shoot the eye above the second door and enter (That took me years to work out. Ed). Jump into the water and dive down, presing a switch underwater. The water level should (should?! Ed) lower. Exit the water and jump onto the moving platform and proceed under the spiky revolving thing. Jump onto the other side and kill the giant spider. Push the block in front of the ledge and climb up them, then enter the door. Set fire to a Deku stick and light the other two torches. Proceed through the other door. Light a Deku Stick and run to the furthest web and set fire to it. Enter the small hole and push the block at the other side down. Set fire to another Deku Stick on the platform you can now reach and jump back to the last platform. Stand on the web in the middle and swing your Stick so you fall through. Infront of you are three shrubs. The left is number 1, the middle is number 2 and the right is number 3. Attack them in the order the other shrub told you earlier. Proceed through the door and you'll enter your first boss battle.
Boss 1 - Gohma
Enter the room and look up. Gohma will jump down. Avoid her attacks and shoot her in the eye with your Slingshot (or use a deku nut to stun her. Ed), then slash at it with your sword repeatedly. She'll then climb up the wall and sit on the roof, starting to release her eggs. Stop her! When her eye goes red shoot her with your slingshot (Z (or L) target her on the floor. Ed) and she'll drop down. Once again, attack repeatedly with your sword. If she does drop some eggs, try to attack the eggs before the babies hatch. If they hatch, attack quickly, avoiding their jumps at you. Then Gohma will drop down. Keep shooting her and attacking her with your sword until she dies. Then collect the Heart Container and enter the blue light.
The battle's over and the Deku Tree has some last wise words to tell you and one very important present to give you before he ends his life (spoiler! Ed).
Part 3 - Hyrule Castle
Upon entering the main village in Kokiri Forest, run straight forward to the other side of the village, following the path. Run through the hollowed tree trunk (exit). It's then time to say goodbye to Saria. She'll give you her Fairy Ocarina. Time to leave for... Oh my gosh!!! You've entered Hyrule field and boy, it looks amazing! Wow! You'll be greeted by a very wise owl (Kaepora Gaebora, the weirdest owl of them all. Ed) who'll advise and help you with your quest. Head out into the field and follow the path in front of you all the way to Hyrule Castle. If night should fall before you reach the castle, the gate will be pulled down and you'll be attacked by an army of skeletons (kill ten to get a big one! Ed) - don't worry, just attack them with your sword and wait for morning when the draw-bridge will open. Walk across the bridge and into the Castle Town. I suggest gathering 80 rupees. If you do not have that many, before entering the town, enter the door near the bridge and smash all the pots, then go out, then in again and keep on smashing until you have 80 rupees. Why do you need 80 rupees? Once you've entered the town head straight for the shop. Just head left (or your character's right) and enter the first building with a door. There it is - on the shelf. A Hylian Shield. It's almost essential for your quest. However there is a way to get it in a small bit of time for half the price (55 rupees actually. Ed)- see if you can work out how (clue - a guard...). Keep going left. You should pass the potions shop, the highly important Temple Of Time and the -HAPPY MASK SHOP- (Evil Mask seller.Evil! Ed). You should then see a girl with long red hair close to the camera. Talk to her. Her name is Malon. She talks about her father. Follow the path behind her into the castle garden. The owl will then speak to you. Watch out for the guards! Don't get spotted! Climb up the vines which are now in front of you. Climb down the ladder in the hole ontop of the gate and go through the door. Follow the path round. Arrrgh! Two guards o the path! Climb up the left side to avoid them. Watch out for the guard on top of the hill. Head around all of them, across the field and to the wall (being careful not to be seen by the guard at the end. Climb up the part of the wall where you can see the bricks easily. Run up to where the eye stone is then drop down onto the path below. Jump immediately into the water. Follow the river round and stand in the corner so you can get out. Run along and you'll meet Malon's dad... Asleep. Make sure to talk to him. But he won't wake up! Approach one of the guards and he'll throw you out (you can do this earlier for the same outcome. Ed). Wait! What's that beautiful sound? It sounds like someone singing! Follow the path round and you'll find Malon by the vines you climbed earlier. She'll then give you a weird egg. Climb up the vine and go back along the path back to Malon's dad. When the next morning arrives, the egg will hatch and a chicken will be born! Yay! When you reach Malon's dad (Talon) again, equip the chicken and press the button it's equipped onto whilst standing infront of Malon's dad. He'll wake up. When he's finished speaking, talk to him again. He'll then run off. Now you can move the boxes! Push one off the edge, into the 'river', then push the other one on top of it. Then climb on top of it and jump across to the ledge in the wall. Enter the hole and you're in the Castle Courtyard. Oh no! You'll get spotted by guards immediately (they're just there at night actually. Ed)! Worry not. Just enter again and they're not there. Now all you have to do is avoid all the other guards by running past them when they're not looking in your direction. And of course, don't go too near them. If you get seen, you'll have to do it all again. But believe me - getting to the end is worth it! When you get to the end you'll reach a beautiful grassy room filled with flowers! And who's that up the steps? You've found the Princess! Speak to her! Tell her you have the spiritual stone of the forest! You're the boy from her dreams! Listen to her dream. After she's finished, start to exit and you'll meet Impa. She'll then teach you Zelda's Lullaby (what happened to Zelda's Letter? Ed). Then she'll lead you out. away from the guards. You'll end up outside the castle. From where you are run forward, across the bridge, up some steps and into Kakariko Village. There are now two ways you can go.
Part 4 - The Graveyard (Optional But Recommended)
From the entrance of the village, run across the main bit and up the steps on the far side. Turn right before you hit the well ang go along, then through an archway and into the graveyard. Run to the back end of the graveyard. Stand on the triforce symbol and get your ocarina out. Play Zelda's Lullaby and the stone infront of you will blow up leaving a hole. Enter it and you'll reach the Hyrule Family Tomb. Kill all the four bats in the room and steps will appear in the block at the end. Climb up and go through the door. Now it's time to get very, very scared. The room is full of Re-Deads (Brrrrr! Ed)! Green smoke rises to the roof ot of toxic water. You need to get to the other ends while avoiding the Re-Deads. If they see you you will be paralysed and they will climb on you and strangle and bite you and it's unlikely you'll escape (it sometimes works if you you use your shield. Ed). I find the easiest way is just running through the first patch of toxic water. Run through the second and make your way to the far left. Then run to the back. Gosh! For me one of the scariest parts of the whole game! Make your way through the door at the back. Read the writing on the stone at the back. You will then learn the Sun's Song. It can be used to change night into day, day into night, and for now most importantly, when you re-enter the Re-Dead room, get your Ocarina out and play the song. The Re-Deads will all freeze! Wonderful song! Very important at the moment. But after a time, or if you attack them, they will defrost. Quick! Scarper out of the room! Ooh! Sends my blood racing! Ooh, a secret I just found now! Go out back into the first room. Stand by one of the skeleton heads and play the Sun's Song. A fairy will come out. You can use it then to restore your health or store it in a bottle for later! What!?! You don't have a bottle! Then, let me help you! It's what I'm here for. But, first, let's get out of this tomb! Stand in the light where you started and exit the Tomb. Then, leave the graveyard.
Part 5 - Lon Lon Ranch (Optional But Recommended)
Run out of Kakariko village and back into Hyrule Field. Run across the bridge. Then run along into the center of the field, where it's on top of a hill. Bit vague, Jas (Big wally looking thing. Ed). Alright! Look at the map in the bottom right hand corner. Make your way to the circle on the map. That circle is Lon Lon Ranch. There's an entrance somewhere. Still vague... Ummm... Keep looking. Once you find it, go in. Enter the first door on the left. It's a room full of chichens and Talon... Asleep again! Talk to him. Oh yes, I forgot to say - You'll need at least 10 rupees and a bit of luck and skill. Play the game and try to pick up the three special chickens (they peck faster. Ed). Alright, then! Cuccos. If you don't win, try again. If you do win, he'll ask you if you want to marry Malon. Then he'll give you some Lon Lon Milk. And it's in a bottle. The milk restores your health when you drink it - so save it for when you need it. When it's gone you can go back to the Ranch to refill it with milk, or back to the Tomb or an even better place (there are many 'better places'! Try and find them!) to put in a fairy. Fairies also give you health back but they give you as they fill your health and you can use it if you die so fairies are the best option. So, is that it at the ranch? Well, there's more to do in the Ranch, especially if you turn left into the main field. Run left when you've entered and you'll find the entrance to where the horses are. And not only the horses! Who's that beautiful voice? Malon's waiting for you in the middle of the field. She has with her a horse called Epona. Talk to her! This is very important for a great bit later in the game! Epona will then run away. Talk to Malon again. Then talk to her again. She'll talk about the song she's singing. Get out your Ocarina. She'll then teach you Epona's Song (play it to cows for free milk! Ed). And look who likes you! Epona likes you now! That's almost everything at the Ranch, so you can exit if you want now. Back to the quest! You know, there's lots to do everywhere, and many side quests to follow if you want a break from the main quest. Anyway, Navi starts to natter on about Saria. 'What would Saria say if we told her we were going to save the world?' Well, she has known Saria all her life... Looks like we're going to see her. This is very important to do so so let's go. Anyway, if you'd have started Part 7 you wouldn't have been able to go anywhere. You can skip and find out if you like. But why bother. Let's go and see Saria!
Part 6 - Lost Woods
You'll need to make your way back to Kokiri Village. Let's ask the villagers. Does anyone know where Saria is? We've heard from someone she's in the lost woods! Let's go! Where is it? When you enter the village, the first house on the left is Mido's. Go behind his house and climb up the big ledge. Climb up the wall with the vines in. Climb up the slopes and head through the hollowed tree stump. And you're in. Be careful. The doors that have light inside are all exits. There are tons of secrets to find in the Lost Woods. Even secret item expansions and secret ways to use your Ocarina. But as I said, they're secret. You'll have to find them out for yourself (Oh, please tell us. Ed). For now, follow that music. If it becomes strong when you are near a door (Doors? Ed), that's the way to go! Follow these doors. Look, it's the owl. He'll tell you about the Sacred Forest Meadow and the song. Just keep following the song. You've made it to the Sacred Forest Meadow. You'll be attacked by a wolf. Don't worry. Just equip the Deku Shield and block it's attacks and attack it with your sword. The gate will then open. That was the easy part. Work your way along, defeating the shrubs by deflecting the nuts they throw at you, then slicing them with your sword. Don't panic. Just be quick with your shield and Z (or L) - Targeting. You'll soon reach the end. Go through the gate and run up the steps. There are two more shrubs so have your shield ready. Then climb up the last stairs and into... Is this a garden? All will be revealed later. For now, talk to Saria. See. She even predicts that the field will be important for both of you someday. And it will (Spoiler! Ed)! Then she'll teach you her song. You'll learn Saria's Song. On your way back out, take the short cut using the ladder. There's a secret place very near. But that's all I'll say. Jump along the platforms to get out. The owl will give you some advice. Once you're out of the lost woods, make your way back to Kakario Village.
Part 7 - Goron City
From the entrance to the village, head up the stairs on the left, then up the next flight of stairs, then the next. Equip Zelda's Letter (Where'd that come from? Ed) and show it to the guard. He'll let you pass. You'll then be going up Death Mountain Trail. Kill the spiders without letting them jump on you. Keep going onwards. You'll meet a Goron. He looks a bit like a rock (You are what you eat. Ed) but talk to him and he'll explain about a bit (What 'bit'? Ed). You'll be seeing a lot more of the Gorons. Keep on going uphill. Watch out for a rolling Goron. Don't let it crash into you. You'll soon find the entrance to Goron City. Make your way down to the bottom floor (just jump down). Stand on the carpet infront of the door at the bottom with the red pattern on it and play Zelda's Lullaby. Inside the room is Darunia. He's moody at the moment - he'll explain why. So let's liven him up! Play a song. Not Zelda's Lullaby. That's boring. This is why you needed Saria's Song. With it's wonderful rhythm he won't be able to help dancing! He dances like a... Goron! He'll then send you on a mission - go into Dodongo's Cavern and kill the monsters in there. He'll give you Goron's Bracelet. You'll need that to pick up bomb flowers. And you'll need to pick up bomb flowers. Once again, there's lots to do in Goron City. Starting with the flaming torches... But let's get on. I'm sure you're itching to get into the second dungeon. Let's go, then! Use the stairs to get back up to the top of the city. Run right past the platform with the rocks on, and turn right down a passage. Pick up the bomb flower and throw it over the fence your standing in front of. Try to get it to land near the rock infront of Dodongo's Cavern. Then jump down by climbing up a bit to your left, or work your way down. Then you'll be next to the entrance! Time to go in!
Part 8 - Dodongo's Cavern
In the first room, pick up a bomb flower and throw it at the wall with the rock covering - you know, rock doorway type thing. Advance to the next room. Run across the bridge and jump onto the colomn that rises up. Then jump into the middle platform in the room. Avoid the laser enemy (Beamos) and jump onto the left pillar. Wait for it to rise then jump onto the other side. Pick up the bomb flower and drop it in front of the rocky-doorway to the left. Inside is a treasure chest with the map in. (If you need a deku shield, pick up another bomb flower and throw it at the beamos further left. Inside the doorway is another shrub. It'll sell you one for 50 rupees.) Jump back onto the pillar, then to the central platform and avoid the Beamos (you can kill it with a bomb flower to make it easier) and jump onto the pillar infront of you (the right one). Then jump onto the side. Throw a bomb flower at the Beamos on your right. Drop another bomb flower infront of the rock-wall. Advance into the next darkened room. Watch out - the lizards in here explode shortly after you attack them them, but they're easy to defeat - one sword slash. (Optional - You should notice another rocky door half way along the right hand side of the room. But no bomb flowers! What else explodes? The lizards! When one's by the door, attack it and it'll blow up the door. Open the door through there. There are a few bats in here and something else... Then exit out of the room and head right. Climb up the ledge and push one of the statues onto the switch and the door will become unlocked. Climb up the ledge and go through the door. Don't worry about this room. There's a few bats in here. It's the next room you should be worried about. Your first real mini boss fight!
Mini Boss 1 - Lizards
The floor is seperated into many sections and between them there's lava. Make sure that you jump the platforms if you need to cross them. Two Lizards with swords will attack you. Equip the Deku Shield. Z-Target one of the lizards and swipe at it with your sword. If it jumpsover you, it's about to swing it's sword at you so press R to put your shield up. Don't follow it across platforms when you're Z-Targeting - you'll fall down. Keep attackiing the lizard until he dies. Do the same with the other one. Don't worry - only one will attack you at once. It won't be long until they're both defeated. There's some pots in here if you need to regain health. You then need to exit the room by a door. But get the right wrong. If you've not got a blue floor underneath you you've exited the wrong way.
Past the rocky-door in this corridor there's another shrub so there's some bomb flowers further down if you want to get a Deku Stick. Follow the corridor to the main room. You'll want to try and avoid these huge lizards - they breath fire. You need to light 3 torched in the room - one by each pillar and one at the back. Strangely, the lizard's breath doesn't work but there's a flaming torch near the entrance so get a Deku Stick out. The door at the back will then open. Go through the door and press the switch at the end of the corridor. You're back in the main room and the switch has unlocked the door at the other side. Jump onto the pillar, then the central platform, then the other pillar and go through the door. What to do in here? Pick up a bomb flower and throw it at one of the bomb flowers in the middle. That'll cause a chain reaction and some stairs will appear. Before you go up, what's behind the rocky door? If you go through the door behind you will be locked! Touch the middle statue and it'll come for you! Throw a bomb flower at it and it'll spin out of control then explode (avoid it). Then oen the treasure chest. It's the compass! Now exit and go up those staris! Go either right or left - no matter which and go through the door at the top. There's fire bats in here so don't have your Deku Shield equipped or it'll burn. Shoot them with the slingshot. Also, some of the statues are alive. Avoid touching them and just push the one infront of the ladder out of the way, then climb up the ladder. Press the switch down and go out of the door you're facing. Cross the bridge and watch out for the fire bats. There's also a gap in the bridge to jump. Enter the doorless doorway at the other side. This is a part I really hate. Do not climb down the ladder. Jump off the end to the right of the ladder and aim to land in the semi corridor past the moving slicy thing. Carefully work your way to a silver box, avoiding the moving slicy things. Pull the box out. Do not go up the ladder. Climb on the box and jump in the other direction of the ladder - onto the edge of a higher platform. Climb up, pick up a bomb flower and throw it at the rocky-door at the top of the ladder. It may take a few tries but keep at it. Then jump at the side and climb up. In the next room there's a pillar in the centre. Shoot the eye at the other end of the room and the fire will go (but be quick) and jump onto the platform, then the one at the other side, then along the corridor, avoiding the lizards, and through the door at the end.
Mini Boss 2 - Lizards (Again)
Same battle but harder floors. Keep focused and it's easy. Get the hearts above the last mini boss battle if you need to regain health. When it's over proceed through the door.
In the next room are two fire pillars. Shoot the eye at the other side, then stand on the first and shoot the eye at the left of the room. The other fire will then die down. Jump onto that pillar, then the pillar at the end and go through the doorless doorway. In here, jump to the other side. Go to the right and you'll see another treasure chest. Open it and you'll get some bombs - you now don't have to rely on bomb flowers. Proceed through the doorless doorway. Step on the switch and the platform below will move up and down. Ignore that and turn right. On the left is a bridge. Go across it. There's two gaps in the bridge. Drop a bomb down each. The skeleton's mouth will drop. Go throught the door in his mouth and... That's it for today!
